Born 1971 in Mexico City, lives and works in New York

Pablo Helguera's work, which spans from performance art to installation and narrative, often explores notions of cultural history.

His projects in 2002 include participation in the exhibition Museutopia, at the Karl Ernst Osthaus Museum in Hagen, a solo exhibition at the space P74 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and a performance at the IFA Gallery in Bonn.

He has participated in new media festivals such as the Viper Festival in Basel and Mediaterra in Athens, Greece.

In New York he has exhibited at the Bronx Museum, Museo del Barrio, Whitebox, INTAR and other spaces.

Solo exhibitions include Ex-Teresa Espacio Alternativo (Mexico City), Galerija Matice Hrvatske (Zagreb, Croatia), University of the Andes (Bogotá, Colombia), and at museums and galleries in Chicago, Montana, Kansas, and Oregon, and collectively at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, the MALBA museum in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and others.

He is the Senior Manager for Education at the Guggenheim Museum, where he recently organized the international symposium The Museum as Medium.
