 Your parents lied to you. Simply because, like birds singing, it is the nature of the parents to lie to their children. And you know that your school and its armory of books lied to you.
Often, your memory is not what you think it is. You often mis-interpret past events.
And, just between us, you must confess that you yourself have built up certain, uh, fictions, --- to help you present a better 'self' to yourself and to us.
In other words, at no point and in no part are you who you and we think you are.
