 Most of the cockroach traps that one can buy contain scents to attract cockroaches, so that the problem is actually made worse. Cockroaches are also attracted to the smell of other cockroaches, so the trapped ones bring others.
Better to use Boric Acid powder, (being careful around pets, of course) which always works even if you do not see dead cockroaches.
Where I am from, there is a natural predator to cockroaches. But it is almost as bad as its prey: it is a super-fast, poisonous centipede with very long, spidery legs which leave blisters on your skin.
